Artist's Comments

:) This would be my rendition of the Cheshire Cat, from the game 'Alice'... It's some thick paper, painted with ink, and then scratched using a razorblade. (scratchboard...) It looks better in person, as my scanner isn't all that great. Anyway, please voice what you think about it.

Things I feel are a problem:

:bulletred: Blotchyness
:bulletred: Border?
:bulletred: Words?

Comments on those areas especially would be nice. :) Thank you.

Ooo, you made your own scratchboard :). I think that the text does break up the piece a good deal. If you carved it up by hand, it'd be more demented looking and would fit in with the rest of the piece. The same goes for the border, I suppose. Cool work though, and I dig how defined the teeth are, since this is, after all, the Cheshire Cat.

Maybe a different, messed up font... some of the black parts are a bit blotchy but I bet it looks sick in person.

Border looks perfect.

Yes... The font is what I was least satisfied with. :hmm: Because I'm using shitty Adobe 5.0 :shakefist: I only have so many to work with... This one fit the best. :shrug:

Hmm. :plotting: That's actually a really good suggestion regarding the text... but, I'd be too chicken to do it. I'd probably spell something wrong. :roll: And, this was made in school... my advanced art class was making 'greeting cards' to sell as a school fundrasier. Well, this was my "Congratulations you're going to die" card. So I wouldn't have been able to carve the words in anyway. :dohtwo:

Yes i agree, big and sharp teeth wouldve made this more Sinister :D and i think you shouldve made a messy border, like scratchy lines :nod:

But this is also nice :)

wow that's excellent, it looks so incredibly evil...especially with those scratches...I love the perspective...just looks soo good!!Excellent job!!I think the border and text is fine, but the background does look a bit blotchy, maybe darken it so it's all black, great stuff though:clap:

Hmm... actually, I like teh border. Perhaps I'm reading into it too much, but teh perfectly straight border makes it sort of feel like a cell. Like, teh insanity is being held in. Chu know? And yeah, like everyone else's said, teh words could be better. And no, I don's really think teh blotchiness is a problem at all.
